Born in South America and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Barrientos brings a distinguished military career and extensive clinical experience to our practice. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and served in the United States Navy Dental Corps for over 25 years, both on active duty and in the Active Drilling Reserves.

 

After multiple deployments around the world, Dr. Barrientos was assigned to Newport Naval Base, where she fell in love with the area and chose to raise her family. Her professional experience includes a General Practice Residency at Naval Hospital Oakland, CA; serving as Director of the dental clinic at Thundermist Health Center; working as a dental associate in multiple private offices throughout Rhode Island; directing the dental clinic at Indian Health Center; and practicing at Molar Express, where she served underserved communities. Throughout her career, she has been committed to staying at the forefront of evolving standards of care and dedicates time to community service for patients of all ages.

 

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Barrientos enjoys traveling the world with her two sons, exploring new cultures, meeting new people, and embracing outdoor adventures such as hiking, sailing, and skiing.
